Helping the families of the kidnapped: The Story of Liora

By Dalit Boutboul | Storyteller

Liora and Noa
Liora and Noa

Liora's only daughter, Noa, was among the hundreds of young women and men kidnapped from the Nova party on Saturday, October 7th. The video of Noa, taken by motorcycle, screaming and crying, has become a symbol of these tragic events.

Noa has yet to be released, while Liora, 61 years old and a nurse by profession, is undergoing cancer treatments. Liora is in a race against time, praying that she will succeed in seeing her daughter once again.

Haverim L'Refuah heard of Liora's difficulties in finding an expensive cancer medicine. We managed to find the medicine and to deliver it to her home. Our volunteers stayed to share a special blessing for Noa's return and for Liora's good health.

Following the war, Haverim L'Refuah began delivering packages of free medicines to hundreds of evacuees from the north and the south. In addition to the 7,000 people already receiving free medicines every month, we are honored to be able to help the people still displaced after six months of war.

Your support enables us to deliver the medicines directly to these people. So that they have one less concern and worry.
