Challenge

Poverty and a lack of education and resources has led to a population of families in East Java being systematically exploited. The children are often unable to attend school and parents are left with little choice of income other than the prolific prostitution in their area.

Solution

The Community Development Program works alongside the families to help them create their own long-term solutions. This is includes micro-financing and skills-training for the adults as well as education and leadership development for the children.

Long-Term Impact

As this community grows stronger economically, becomes better educated, and heals emotionally, they will be able to carve out for themselves a healthier, more independent life that will produce generations of healthier children and eradicate a hub of systematic sexual abuse in their city.
