15 Groups Pitched at Our Two Showcase Events!

By Rachel Shaheen | Program Assistant

The Social Innovation Forum has built rewarding relationships with our nonprofit Social Innovators over the last three months, and noticed impressive growth in both their messaging and presentation skills at our May 5 Showcase event. After many weeks of iterations and practice with their consultants and presentation advisors, each Innovator pitched to an audience of about 300 business and philanthropic leaders in the greater Boston area. Many meaningful connections were made and we look forward to seeing the positive results of the event in the months to come. A tremendous congratulations goes out to all of our Innovators, whose pitches were extremely succinct and compelling.

Additionally, our third annual Impact Investing Showcase was held on Wednesday, June 3, where our guests had the opportunity to meet and hear directly from our cohort of 2015 Impact Entrepreneurs. These impact-driven businesses showcased their work, but also showed us why supporting social purpose startups is so exciting. All of the entrepreneurs pitching were selected following a rigorous evaluation process and have participated in a 12-week startup accelerator program designed to give social purpose startup businesses access to knowledge, connections, and impact investors. The Impact Investing Accelerator benefited from the support of over 40 active mentors who worked with entrepreneurs weekly on their business plan, marketing, and presentations. Support for selected entrepreneurs from the Social Innovation Forum and participating partners is valued at more than $50,000.
