At our Winter Reception on December 9, 2014, we welcomed and celebrated our newly selected cohort of Social Innovators! The primary goal of the annual Winter Reception is to connect our Social Innovators to our engaged community of donors, investors, and in-kind partners. The evening is centered on networking and building cross-sector connections, as the event attracts a diverse audience, including business and philanthropy leaders; past, present, and prospective funders; and our organizations' coaches and consultants. At the 2014 Winter Reception, the Social Innovation Forum publicly announced the 2015 Social Innovators and thanked the 2014 and 2013 cohorts of Social Innovators and Impact Entrepreneurs for their exceptional work and growth over the past year(s).
Each year, the Social Innovation Forum partners with leading local funders on a variety of social issue areas in which we select one innovative nonprofit organization for each “social issue track.” This year, we selected seven promising organizations to join our portfolio and receive a range of services and supports that enables them to build capacity, gain visibility, expand their networks, and improve their performance. Through a six-month consulting engagement, which began with an orientation session on December 17, our Social Innovators will prepare to present their work to over 300 people at SIF’s annual Showcase in May.
