Integrated Education support Visually Impaired students to go in the nearby school as per their residence. Under this program blind and low vision children (both boys and girls) are encouraged to live with their families and take education in regular/mainstream schools in their localities along with their sighted counterparts. These children receive regular services of itinerant teachers through NAB, India who impart training in Braille, use of special devices, orientation & mobility.
The areas where we are implementing the project are rural and tribal areas where educational programmes for visually impaired children are virtually non-existent.These students may receive the equipment's through government setup but there is hardly anybody who can teach the children how to use these equipment's. Our main emphasis is to educate the students so that they will be independent in their life.
Education opens the door of independence for any person. This is same for the blind students. Once they complete their school education they can become independent. Till their schooling age they require training, guidance of trained educators regarding how to use the equipment's and read & write. Through this project we provide the above services.
The main purpose o this Program is to help Visually Impaired Student thorough Education, Mobility & Training, various activities to lead an Independent life & build confidence. Under Integrated Education program Visually Challenged are encouraged to live with their families and take education in regular/mainstream schools in their localities along with their sighted counterparts. It creates long impact in their life to get equal opportunities like others.
