Majority of women in Karatu District are illiterate, unaware of existing entitlements and their involvement in land administration is limited. Our practical experience reveals that women's access to land and property is central to women's economic empowerment as land can serve as a base for food production and income generation. Through this project, TAJPI planned to formalize land and ensure land acquisition to 100 women. In a long run, the organization intend to promote human rights to women community.
The project has two SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES, namely
1. To provide training to 200 women from Karatu District on the rights of women ownership of resources
2. To formalize land and issue title deeds to at least 100 women by the end of the project
Since, its launching at GlobalGiving fundraising platform, the project has not yet received a donation, but we have managed to identify project target group who are women whose age ranges from 30-70 years old who residing in Karatu District. The women are from Mbulumbulu, Rhotia, Endamarariek and Endabash ward. The women are victims of oppression that is triggered by the patriachy system in their community
