Over the past few months there have been hundreds of floods in Indonesia, especially the Jabodetabek flood, Demak flood, Maros flood and others. The assistance sent varied from food and public kitchens as many as 2,200 servings of ready-to-eat suhoor meals in Jakarta areas such as Pengadegan, Binawan, Jatinegara, Manggarai, Kebon Pala, and Kebon Manggis to help flood victims carry out fasting properly.
In addition, there was also basic food and cash assistance in Demak and Maros. BAZNAS distributed 600 logistics packages of basic necessities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, and blankets, as well as Rp50 million in cash, 400 kg of rice, and 500 cans of corned beef for flood victims in several affected sub-districts in Demak Regency. In Maros, South Sulawesi, 200 food packages were given to flood-affected communities in Makassar City and Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. In addition, BAZNAS Tanggap Bencana (BTB) was also present to provide various services, including cleaning actions, distribution of ready-to-eat food, establishment of disaster posts, water kitchens, public kitchens, provision of baby kits, hygiene kits, and free health services for affected residents.
There are many other assistance that BAZNAS has presented, for this reason BAZNAS is committed to continue to be present and play an active role in disaster management and invite all levels of society to jointly help others.
