The Kakamas and Keimos community in the Northern Cape province of South Africa have benefited greatly recently from Uhambo's work that included a training on inclusion, the Ndinogona pogram. It had become evident that the needs of parents and children with disabilities were not being met through local services in these communities.
Local Early Childhood Development (ECD) sites and informal parents groups were identified in Kakamas and surrounds and a trainning was provided to over 62 participants including various stakeholders in the community. These trainings provide skills to parents, educators, therapists and community workers to improve and support the development of children with disabilities in and out of care centers.
The Uhambo team in South Africa continues to adapt and deliver their programs and services durirng the pandemic and make an impact to children with disabilities, thanks to the support of donors like you!
