We sincerely thank you for your interest in the Inclusive Sports for Persons with Disabilities project. At this time, no donations have been received, so the planned sports activities have not yet begun.
Across many communities in Nigeria, persons with disabilities continue to face exclusion from recreational activities. Sports, which bring people together and support physical and mental health, are often not accessible due to lack of equipment, safe spaces, and organized programs.
During recent community engagement, we observed that some individuals have created their own way of playing football using their hands. While this shows strong interest and determination, they lack structured opportunities and recognition within the wider community.
This project is designed to organize inclusive football tournaments with adapted rules and equipment that suit participants’ abilities. It will also provide jerseys, footballs, and support for transportation to ensure participation is possible for those who need it.
With the right support, participants can enjoy safe and structured play, build confidence, and feel included in community life.
