We are pleased to present our quarterly project report on the Inclusive Education of 900 Blind Children in Uganda, made possible by your generous donation through GlobalGiving. We are honored and grateful for your support in providing inclusive educational opportunities to blind children in Uganda.
Project Update
From September 2025 to January 2026, we received a total disbursement of $6,538.11 in donations. This funding was utilized to procure 2 printers for St. Mary Goretti Secondary School Ngetta, an inclusive school located in Lira City, Uganda. A portion of the funds was also allocated towards school fees grants for students at St. Mary Goretti in 2026. The remaining funds will be used to purchase braille scientific calculators for students who are blind.
Project Impact
- Enhanced access to educational resources: The 2 printers will enable the school to print, scan, copy and produce exams, print cards, school ID , Assignments and other educational resources
- Improved accessibility: The construction of the ramp at St. Mary Goretti SS Ngetta has enhanced accessibility and inclusion for students with disabilities, promoting inclusive education.
- Empowered students and children with disabilities : School fees grants provided have enabled students to access inclusive education at St. Mary Goretti Secondary school and Ngetta Girls Primary school .
Financial Report
- Total Disbursements Received: $6,538.11
- Breakdown of Expenditure:
- The highest disbursement received this quarter was $4,999.28, equivalent to Uganda Shillings Ugx 16,850,798.
- 5.4 million Uganda shillings was used to procure 2 printers for St. Mary Goretti S.S Ngetta: one heavy-duty black printer for scanning, photocopying, printing exams, tests, and continuous assessments, and a small colored Epson printer for printing report cards, school IDs, and documents.
- School fees were paid for 8 students at St Mary Goretti Secondary School, Ngetta, bringing the total number of students sponsored to 24 in 2026.
On January 28, 2026, we received a disbursement of $1,502.89 (Ugx 5,116,890) restricted towards the construction of a ramp and steps at St. Mary Goretti SS Ngetta, enhancing accessibility for students with disabilities. The fund was utilized to construct the ramp. Attached are photos of students using the ramp.
