SUPPORT INCLUSIVE EDUCATION FOR BOTH THE BLIND AND OTHER DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN IN UGANDA. This project will provide school fee grants and braille educational materials for inclusive education of 900 children in Northern Uganda especially the blind. Education empowers blind people to become teachers, social workers, lawyers. without empowerment, they risk dropping out of school, becoming over dependent , resort to street begging. Let's support disability inclusion to break cycle of poverty.
Northern Uganda is the poorest region in the country due to the effects of 20 years of LRA internal war that ended in 2006, high rates of illiteracy leading to unemployment, and prolonged drought in the semi desert of karamoja which affects farming. There is high rates of school drop out among children especially the blind because high cost of assistive technologies such as braille machine, JAWS computer and limited inclusive secondary school. Extreme poverty is barrier to access education

This project will enable the charity to provide scholarships, school fee grants and educational materials for inclusive education of visually impaired and other children in northern Uganda.
Your donation will help create a lasting impact on the future of 900 visually impaired children and other in Uganda. Skills acquired will enable them to have jobs hence breaking cycle of poverty. Provision of braille assistive devices such as JAWS computers will provide digital literacy and access to information, and other braille materials will promote inclusive classroom.
