Children's Day in Thomayer Hospital

Children's Day in Thomayer Hospital for nursery school and primary school took place on Mai the 25th. More than 700 children were involved.
The programme of the Children's Day was focused on elimination of the fear from hospital enviroment and on preventive healthcare.
Hospital departments prepared for the children activities which prevent children from deseases and injuries. Medical students with the aid of children's plush toys showed kids from the nursery school how to treat the patient. There was an ambulance car for everybody to take a look and jumping castle for final entertainment.
We believe that Children's Day in Hospital makes sense and that children really enjoy it. The great proof of this is that nursery and primary schools come back to Thomayer Hospital every year.

Dog dancing in Thomayer Hospital

Children in the Department of Pediatric Neurology had a great experience on June the 26th. Our volunteers Daniela and Dana came to the department with their dogs Sofia and Majdalenka Chlupaté štestí and showed us an attractive sport discipline called dog dancing.
Their beautiful performance with music had a huge success. Not only the children, but also the nurses and doctors admired them. After the performance, children could try some training with dogs and of course caress the dogs for a long time.

Exotic animals visited Thomayer Hospital

Children in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry had an interesting visit on June the 21th and June the 28th.
Our volunteer Eva Kremenová introduced to children, parents and hospital staff unusual animals, those we commonly don't meet with. Eva brought to the department two agamas and a tenrec. Kids could touch the animals and caress them. The visit was a really nice distraction during children's hospitalization. As a bonus, Eva brought also a papillon puppy to cheer up the kids.
