Singing for the patients
Since February 2017 we have started to cooperate with the blind musician Míša Málková. Míša attends the Department of Geriatric Medicine in the Thomayer Hospital every week to sing and play the guitar for the patients. You can meet her every Monday visiting room by room with the aid of our volunteer in order to cheer every single patient with her beautiful voice. Most of patients love to sing folk songs with Míša and sometimes the patients are even moved to tears.
Easter Workshop and Game Seminar
There was an Easter workshop for the employees of the Thomayer Hospital and for the volunteers of Lékorice, which took place on the 29th of March. Everyone could make an Easter decoration in the form of wreath and choose from wide variety of components. There have been created wreaths with Easter eggs, flowers and other symbols of Spring. About 80 employees and volunteers participated in this workshop and everybody took home the really original Easter decoration.
The Easter Workshop was followed by the Game Seminar. Everyone could try the games, which are used by the play therapists on the Department of Pediatric Neurology, Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Department of Pediatric and Trauma Surgery of the Thomayer Hospital. There was a special guest Mr. Jirí Skocdopole, a big expert in the field of table games, who presented us the game news on the market. The benefits of playing games for the child development were also discussed.
Art Workshop for mothers
At the request of the charge nurse od the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, every month takes place an art workshop for the mothers of premature babies. The creative activity helps mothers to dispel worries about their babies and to spend their time in the hospital better. Moreover, mothers always create something nice for themselves.
Similar art workshops for mothers of hospitalized children take place every month also on the Department of Pediatric Neurology. Mothers accompanying their children during the hospitalization can relax there and enjoy the creative activity because volunteers take care of their children during the workshop.
