Volunteers who attend regularly visits to the wards of Thomayerova hospital have been started talk and play with adults and children patients again after summer break and attend their wards in larger quantities..
Besides regular volunteering, Volunteer Center Licoriceestablished collaboration with Jana Vánová, who runs workshops monthly in the Ward of Geriatrics and aftercare. Jana is an expert on basket weaving, so she did it with patients, but also they made puppets from socks and gloves.
The third annual celebration of the Day of seniors took place on 1st October when we wished patients in adult wards well. Thanks to cooperation with kindergarten Kukucínova in Thomayerova hospital kids gave greetings with a song.
During the autumn break, which was from 29th to30th Octoberthis year, we organized for the children of employees autumn suburban camp called Walking with forest elfs. During the program, children were learning how to recognize trees, their leaves and fruit, creating things from ceramics, making a lantern and a forest elf, carving pumpkins and much more.
In the Ward of Pediatric Neurology were launched workshops for mothers of hospitalized children during the autumn months. Art workshops runs volunteer Lenka Kutejová who makes with mothers, for example, organza flowers, notebooks or sews birds. Workshops has a great success for mothers and for volunteers who keep an eyes on the children.
