Summer in Lekorice volunteering programme is less alive than other months in year. Many volunteers leave us for a while for vacations and some of the activities are reduced according to the fact written above. As for IKEM part of the programme there are no creative workshops during the summer. On the other hand, In FNKV (hospital in Prague in Vinohrady district) we had the opportunity to organize „thanksgiving day“ dedicated to our volunteers. This year we found a way how to make it special and so we could take our volunteers on the roof of National technical museum in Prague to offer them unique view on the Prague scenery while hearing the „thanking“ speech on their honour. We were glad that our volunteers enjoyed the stay a had a good time.
With the beginning of September, we are currently starting with IKEM programmes again. We had the first yesterday and we are glad for patients that attended. Now we are working on preparations of Autumn and winter topical workshop – such as Halloween, St. Nicolas, Christmas Day.
In Vinohrady we are preparing for autumn supervisions and for training course for new volunteers. We have also decided that programme in Vinohrady is grown enough to start working independently on the mother organisation and we believe that we would be able to handover the programme management to the hospital itself for next development of the programme.
