Progress Report: January – March 2026
We began the first quarter of 2026 with enthusiasm, strengthening partnerships, building institutional capacities, and expanding our direct support to communities. We reaffirm our commitment to promoting local processes focused on health, community organization, and the defense of rights, always in collaboration with those who build alternatives from their territories.
During these months, we also prioritized strengthening our operational team through training spaces on monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning (MEAL), governance, and institutional development. We believe that internal growth is essential to provide more effective support to partner organizations. At the same time, we carried out field visits that allowed us to reinforce relationships, observe progress, and better understand the challenges faced by communities.
As part of our goals for this year, we are advancing in the implementation of a new monitoring and evaluation system. In this first stage, we are establishing a baseline that will allow us to more accurately measure the results and impact of projects through context-specific indicators.
2026 Project Launch
On February 12, we officially launched the new projects through the signing of agreements with partner organizations. In total, we are supporting 16 civil society organizations in the Los Altos region of Chiapas, whose initiatives address key areas such as health, education, environment, culture, human rights, and community strengthening:
Each of these projects represents a shared effort to generate sustainable, community-based solutions, strengthening social fabric and improving living conditions.
Institutional Strengthening and Partnerships
During this quarter, we advanced in an institutional strengthening process focused on financial sustainability, including a fundraising diagnosis, donor mapping, and the development of new narrative and communication strategies.
The team participated in the MEAL DPro certification course, as well as a governance course focused on the strategic role of Boards of Directors. Additionally, a fundraising consultancy was initiated to diversify income sources and strengthen internal capacities.
We also consolidated partnerships through participation in collective learning spaces, such as meetings with community foundations through Comunalia, continental exchanges via Connecting Communities in the Americas, and academic seminars on environmental education.
Culture, Learning, and Community
The March 14 tribute concert to Juan Gabriel, performed by the San Cristóbal Symphony Orchestra and Choir, stood out as a meaningful experience demonstrating the power of culture and music in fostering human and community development.
Field Visits and Key Learnings
In March, we began monitoring visits to several projects, observing important progress:
These visits not only support project follow-up but also allow us to learn directly from community-based experiences.
Conclusion
We continue moving forward with the conviction that collective work and strong partnerships generate sustainable change. While important challenges remain, the progress made during this quarter reflects the impact of shared efforts. This 2026 continues to be built on hope, ongoing learning, and a strong commitment to communities.
