ILGA World has been delivering its programmes, projects and activities with your support over the years. This update report includes our 2021 Annual Report.
Since the start of 2022, ILGA World has succeeded in a number of areas, including
1. Over 600 people, including 131 activist scholars, attended the 2022 ILGA World Conference in Long Beach, California, USA
2. ILGA World led the civil society campaign to support the renewal of the mandate of the Independent Expert on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity at the United Nations with its partners. The campaign engaged over 1,100 organizations
3. The organization launched two new projects. The first is a long-term initiative to support LGBTIQ-led organizations to advocate for decriminalization globally. The second is to support LGBTIQ-led organizations in leading advocacy campaigns in their countries by incorporating work at international human rights mechanisms, including the United Nations.
4. ILGA World is finalizing a new way to present its social and legal research on how the laws and social attitudes towards LGBTIQ people affect our communities. Stay tuned for more in the next progress report.
