This is the second year Mrs Makrina Bojkova teaches math with JUMP Math and each time we've carried our methodologocal support she shares: "Students love it!".
The primary school “ Hristo Botev “ is located in the village Lomtsi, Targovishte region. Makrina and her second graders started with JUMP Math two years ago when the project was supported by our GlobalGiving campain. Now in second grade students enjoy each math lesson, they feel confident with their mathematical skills, they know math is key to understadnig and explorng the world around and they are not afraid to make questions and mistakes.
Since JUMP Math is so loved and appreciated among students and Makrina herself, more of the teacher colleagues have joined the program. We just carried out a new JUMP Math training and three teachers from Lomtsi primary school have passes successfully. They plan to start the new shool year with JUMP Math.
As most students come from disandvantaged backgrounds, we are actively looking for funding for the JUMP Math materials. We need to fundraise 2000 Bulgarian levs for notebooks for 30 students from Pre-K and 1st grade fot the school year 24-25.
