The Ignite Girls in STEM Kenya program aims to create mentorship opportunities for underrepresented girls and young women in primary, secondary, and out of school girls and women from different backgrounds including informal settlements and rural areas. The program goal is to increase the participation and success in STEM careers of girls and women by offering girls and young women between 6 and 29 years who reside in low-income urban and rural areas.
In Kenya, many bright and talented girls in underserved communities face barriers that limit their access to quality education and opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields. The Ignite Girls in STEM program aims to bridge this gap by providing these girls with the necessary resources, mentorship, and hands-on learning experiences that will empower them to pursue careers in STEM.
