We are bringing together student leaders in sustainability from around the world for collaboration and training to enhance their ability in affecting change in their local communities.
IDEAS addresses environmental & sustainability challenges in the developing world. In emerging nations, many types of environmental problems remain prevalent (such as water pollution and carbon emissions) and are worsened by low levels of awareness and engagement. Students remain an important untapped resource, yet often they lack the resources and experts. A significant part of this stems from a disconnect between students around the world solving similar problems. We aim to bridge this gap.
By bringing 30 student leaders in the sustainability/environmental movement from around the globe to Stanford University, we hope to foster the sharing of technical expertise, skills, and tools in a week-long conference dedicated to bridging the gap.
By developing a network of leading students interested in a sustainable international development agenda, we will help mobilize emerging communities and hope to shape the way sustainability issues and environmental awareness are addressed.
