Juan Carlos is a small-scale farmer in the Gran Chaco who, together with his wife and six children, supports his family through their daily work. Each family member plays an important role, contributing to production and helping sustain the household.
Through the project’s training activities, Juan Carlos began incorporating new tools that transformed the way he works. One of the most important was the Kokue app, which allows him to better track his crops and organize his production more efficiently.
At first, using digital tools was a challenge. With the support of his children, he gradually learned how to use the app, turning it into a shared learning experience that strengthened both his work and family bonds.
Today, Juan Carlos produces vegetables year-round using agroecological practices, improving his family’s diet while reducing household expenses. He also diversifies his income through charcoal production, which he sells alongside his crops.
This year, he was able to expand his production area—an important step toward growing his livelihood and creating new opportunities for his family.
Juan Carlos’ story shows how access to digital tools, combined with family effort and local knowledge, can help communities adapt, improve their production, and build resilience in the face of climate challenges.
Thank you for helping bring technology and opportunity to families in the Gran Chaco.
