Alliance for Positive Change annually serves 4,800 low-income New Yorkers with access to health care, housing, food and nutrition services, basic needs items, and more. Most of the individuals we serve cannot afford basic hygiene essentials and turn to Alliance to meet these fundamental needs with dignity and care. We rely on generous donors to provide donations that help ensure our community members can access the everyday items that support health, confidence, and well-being.
Alliance for Positive Change serves low-income New Yorkers with HIV and other chronic conditions with basic needs items and support. Since 2023, 50% of working-age households in NYC do not have incomes to cover basic needs, and the rising cost of living has greatly impacted the communities that Alliance serves. Our ability to provide basic needs items has become more urgent, and hygiene products are often the first requests from participants seeking our services.
During street outreach, Alliance for Positive Change distributes kits containing soap, shampoo, warm socks, and other necessities for people who are homeless or facing significant economic challenges. Thanks to generous supporters, we distribute thousands of these kits every year. We invite you to donate to help us provide basic need items as a foundation for health and positive change.
Hygiene products support health, dignity, and self-care while creating opportunities to connect participants to ongoing services and resources. Hygiene kits help us engage more deeply with our participants, and addressing basic needs allows them to focus on their long-term health and personal goals.
