When you have no money, what are your priorities?
Left with no possessions or money, it’s easy to guess what refugees want most. Without food, water, and shelter they won’t survive the harsh winter in Lebanon, but other essentials are too often forgotten or ignored. In crisis situations, women are hit hardest as their hygiene needs go unaddressed.
Global One’s Hygiene Kits project has provided Syrian refugees in Lebanon with the means to manage their menstrual hygiene in a sanitary manner. The Hygiene Kits include a menstrual cup/pack of sanitary towels, soap and shampoo. Global One completed two distributions in May and October to provide over 1000 Syrian refugee women with essential toiletries that they haven’t had access to since fleeing Syria.
Our Hygiene Kits projects in Syria has now come to a close and the deliveries were a success! We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our donors and supporters.
While we may have finished this project, we are continuing to support female refugees around the world. Stay tuned to our Global Giving page to stay up to date on current and future projects.
