There are many areas in Pakistan where open defecation is considered normal. Construction of toilets is not the only important thing but educating the people in villages about the importance of hygiene and sanitation is also important. Open defecation results in the spread of many diseases which are harmful. Now that the COVID-19 virus has spread all accross the world, open defecation practices need to stop so that the spread of diseases could be controlled and this could only be possible by providing the quality awareness and education about hygiene and sanitation. Along with all these issues open defecation practices are also not safe for women and girls, especially now, when there is a long list of harrassment and rape cases in the country.
Joy Foundation hopes that soon we will have enough resources for this project and through these funds we will be able to construct more toilets and spread more hygiene and sanitation awareness in communities where people are still practicing open defecation. Your support and funds will help us achieve this goal.
