Hello,
Thank you to all who have supported this effort as we continue to help the Virgin Islands recover. In January 2018, We donated over $10,000 to aid in the reconstruction of St. John's in the Virgin Islands. $2,000 of those funds were donated to the Community Foundation of St. John to aid in the reconstruction efforts they have underway. Another $5,000 of those donated funds went to the Gifft Hill School to help them restore to full operations and support their amazing teachers as they continue the education of the island's youth. Another $3,000 were given out as small micro-grant support to families that were identified by volunteers on the ground. We will be monitoring the relief effort and continue to give funds that have been donated to aid in the long-term effort where funding gaps arise.
Thank you for being a part of this effort!
Sincerely,
Nicholas C. Metropulos
St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands has seen large scale devastation following Hurricane Irma. Our organization responded through community partners on the island to assess the needs and make a plan for action to aid in the long-term recovery effort.
We have identified the Gifft Hill School on St. John as a worthy organization to partner with as we help restore them to full operations and support their amazing teachers as they continue to help the community and continue the education of the island's youth. This is a special private school that is quite inclusive of residents at all socio-economic levels.
More updates to come in January as we get some projects underway with the school and in the local community. Thank you for your support with these efforts.
