Thanks in part to the support of GlobalGiving donors, HEI/SBH has begun preparations for the 2022 hurricane season. We are conducting an inventory of leftover items from last season and will replace any expired or depleted items. We work with organizations like Direct Relief International and Build Health International to source supplies in-kind in order to operate as cost effectively as possible.
This year, we are forming a new disaster preparedness committee with seven other health facilities in the Southwest microregion to enhance disaster preparedness beyond SBH. Operations leads from each facility will meet quarterly to share best practices, discuss challenges, and receive training from international experts in disaster preparedness. Our goal is to ensure that we can mount rapid and robust responses to future disasters and save more lives. Thank you for all that you do to make this work possible!
