As of Aug. 31, 2017, 6 truckloads of dry goods, water and fresh produce have been distributed to the Corpus Christi area and Aransas Pass. It was done with the help and coordination of the Food Bank of Corpus Christi, Feeding Texas and RGV Sector Border Patrol. L&F Distributors and Walmart allowed use of their parking lots. Over 50,000 pounds of relief was distributed to over 3,000 affected by Hurricane Harvey. There was a line of cars an estimated 1 mile long seeking food assistance. Approximate numbers available at next report.
The director of the Corpus Christi food bank expressed gratitude for our assistance and cited the Food Bank RGV for excellent coordination and team work. Not only did the Food Bank RGV bring much needed food relief but we assisted with technical support, staffing, volunteer coordination, social media support, media communication support and networking with Feeding Texas.
Thank you for making this happen!
