Food For Today: Individuals in our region who need food, clothing, non-food items, and other essential items. Food For Tomorrow: Individuals needing help with SNAP (food stamps) or other public benefit programs can get enrollment support. Food For A Lifetime: should our evacuee guests stay in San Antonio for an extended amount of time, the Food Bank team will also help them to find or train for work.
As a result of Hurricane Harvey impacting much of the eastern coast of Texas and inland with unprecedented rainfall and flooding, thousands of displaced individuals and families are seeking refuge in nearby counties. The San Antonio Food Bank has been tasked with assisting evacuees and displaced individuals and families.
Many of those displaced by Hurricane Harvey will continue to need assistance for months. The San Antonio Food Bank is committed to providing essential supplies to the general population that has been devastated by this event for the foreseeable future, until everyone afflicted is able to return to self-sufficiency once again.
In times of crisis and catastrophe, it is vital to ensure no one goes unaided. San Antonio Food Bank is working to ensure that no child, adult, or senior goes without a meal, a dry place to sleep, and clean clothing. As the cities of Texas begin to address the damage rendered and rebuild themselves stronger, the Food Bank will continue to provide the most essential needs to residents so they may focus on family, home, and their future.
