The fasting month of Ramadan is a time of reflection, sharing and solidarity. Our Ramadan emergency relief 2025 supports children with visual and hearing impairments and their families as well as orphans in Herat. By distributing food packages, around 900 people in need can spend the holy month of Ramadan with the dignity and security of a daily meal.
Since the Taliban came back to power in 2021, the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated drastically. The economic crisis, restrictions on women's rights and natural disasters such as droughts and floods are exacerbating the hardship. Families who are already fighting for their survival and vulnerable groups such as children and people with disabilities are particularly affected.
Our Ramadan emergency relief 2025 supports children with visual and hearing impairments and their families as well as orphans in Herat. By distributing food packages, around 900 people in need can spend the holy month of Ramadan with the dignity and security of a daily meal.
People with disabilities are among the most disadvantaged groups in Afghan society. They often lack access to education, medical care and social support. Many families of children with special needs face enormous financial challenges as they must cover additional expenses for medical treatments or supplies. Our humanitarian emergency relief therefore aims to mitigate hunger and health risks and to offer families a sign of solidarity during the holy month of Ramadan.
