23 million people are at risk of dying from hunger in Africa. Extreme drought and ongoing armed conflicts have led to famine in Nigeria, Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia and Southern Sudan. Please help us to save millions of lives in Africa.
A combination of drought and conflict has left the lives of more than 23 million people in Africa in the balance. Especially the countries Nigeria, Kenya, Southern Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia are affected. Unfortunately, the international community is responding very reluctantly. People don't have any reserves left, as in recent years their harvests have failed and animals died because of the lack of water and fodder. Every donation helps us to save lives!
We distribute drinking water and staple food to people in drought regions. We repair wells and springs and we distribute water purification tablets. Mobile clinics and medical units for malnourished children provide basic medical care. Our member organizations feed malnourished children with protein the rich peanut paste Plumpy Nut. We distribute sanitary products and provide basic hygiene education to prevent the spread of diseases.
Our long term impact is to prepare people better for future droughts
