The project is based on training methods already functioning and reflecting actual needs, which can be employed by users' organizations as well as caregivers and patients.
It is scientifically proven that fellow sufferers' support is a much more efficient means of improving psychiatric patients' fate and quality of life than mere medical treatment. PEF (Mental Health Interest Forum) puts a special emphasis on preparing people to cope with everyday situations. The trainings have, moreover, a human rights and advocacy message. During training a simultaneous participation of people making the treatments, caregivers, and users is secured.
Training packages should be made available in these regions. Participants of the trainings will be more motivated to make efforts to improve their quality of life.
To get the training package set up by the British, American and Hungarian experts known in countries that still have to face challenges in psychiatric reforms and the enforcement of human rights.
