International Career Advancement Program (ICAP)

The Global Diversity List was just released at an event at the offices of The Economist in New York City on Monday, October 26, and in London on Wednesday, October 28. The aim of the Global Diversity List is to create a global diversity standard that benchmarks diversity performance.  In this first year, the initial lists were nominated by readers of The Economist and then chosen by the Global Diversity List Judges. The criteria applied by the Judges are laid out in Global Inclusion and Diversity Benchmarks: Standards for Organizations Around the World by Julie O’Mara, Alan Richter and 80 Expert Panelists.

We were very pleased that the International Career Advancement Program (ICAP) was selected as among the "Top Ten Ethnicity Employee Networks".  Moreover, Senior ICAP Advisor, Ambassador Ruth Davis and ICAP Founder, Professor Tom Rowe were recognized among the "Top 50 Diversity Figures in Public Life." To have Ambassador Davis' diversity efforts in ICAP, the US Foreign Service and her work for global women entrepreneurs efforts be recognized is rewarding for so many of us who have benefited from and been supported by the work of Ambassador Davis.  In addition, ICAP Founders, Professor Tom Rowe and Emita Samuels have also worked tirelessly to continue the mission of ICAP and grow the program, they share the honor of this recognition.

With the 20-year anniversary approaching for the ICAP network, the 440+ alumni in the ICAP network and both the Aspen Program and the ICAP Alumni Association are all certainly deserving of this recognition. 

We are excited about connecting with organizations and individuals in the lists as well as with The Economist and other sponsors to advance our common goals of diversity---for greater equity, complete utilization of diverse talents, more sensitive and sensible decision-making and increased effectiveness.
