The goal of Paint and Quarter Horse Foundation Bulgaria is to provide free equine assisted theraphy sessions to Bulgarian children with disabilities. Horse therapy is a well-known and medically proved method for rehabilitation of children with mental and physical disorders. However, it is not offered or supported in any way by the Bulgarian state. Our organization has already began a free therapeutic riding program. To continue giving hope to at least 50 disabled children we need support.
Children like Vicky who suffer from physical and mental disorders are those who need help to have a happy childhood the most. Vicky is our friend, and one of the best ways to improve her and other children's condition is through regular equine assisted therapy. The problem is that horse therapy is expensive in a small Eastern European country like Bulgaria. At the same time the state does not support it in any way. So, disabled children only can benefit from it through an organization like ours.
PQHFoundation is determined to provide free access to equine assisted therapeutic riding lessons for children with disabilities. The instructors will improve the quality of life of the children and their general health. We already started a program. To sustain it we need support for the care of the horses, their training, maintenance, get quality therapeutic riding equipment, and continuing education of the trainers. This program can ensure rehabilitation for at least 50 children in one year!
Gaining professional experience in therapeutic riding means that over time we will increase the number of children with disabilities who will be treated. Moreover, their parents, also, need support. At the PQHFoundation we train our 14 horses by natural methods and breed them as close to the natural environment as possible. The animals are kind and calm. They create the perfect atmosphere in which families who struggle with disabilities can relax and improve their physical and mental health.
