Dear GlobalGiving Community,

Warm greetings from No One Down Relief Organization (NODRO).

We are honored to share our latest progress report for the project "Hope Haven Ethiopia: Food & Shelter for Orphans." We extend our heartfelt gratitude to GlobalGiving and our compassionate supporters whose generosity is transforming the lives of orphaned and vulnerable children across Ethiopia.

Years of conflict, displacement, poverty, recurring drought, and economic hardship have left thousands of children without adequate food, shelter, care, and protection. Many orphans continue to face hunger, homelessness, interrupted education, and increased risks of neglect, exploitation, and illness.

Through this project, NODRO is providing life-saving assistance by ensuring that orphaned children receive nutritious meals, safe shelter, essential household supplies, psychosocial support, education assistance, and opportunities to grow in a secure and nurturing environment.

During this reporting period, we made encouraging progress toward improving the well-being, protection, and future opportunities of vulnerable children.

Project Overview

The Hope Haven Ethiopia: Food & Shelter for Orphans project seeks to improve the lives of orphaned and highly vulnerable children by providing comprehensive care, including food security, shelter, protection, health support, and education assistance.

The project focuses on:

• Providing nutritious daily meals for orphaned children

• Supporting safe temporary and long-term shelter

• Distributing bedding, clothing, and essential household supplies

• Improving children's health, hygiene, and nutrition

• Providing psychosocial care and emotional support

• Supporting access to education and school materials

• Protecting children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence

• Strengthening community-based child protection systems

• Food insecurity among orphaned children

• Lack of safe and stable shelter

• Poor nutrition and increased health risks

• Interrupted education

• Emotional trauma resulting from conflict and family loss

• Limited access to clothing and basic necessities

Early Impact & Beneficiary StoryA New Beginning Filled with Hope

An orphaned 11-year-old girl from the Amhara Region shared:

"After losing both of my parents, I thought I would never feel safe again. Some days I had nothing to eat and nowhere comfortable to sleep. Through NODRO's support, I now have regular meals, a safe place to stay, school supplies, and people who care about me. I dream of becoming a teacher so I can help other children like me."

Her story reflects the resilience of thousands of children whose lives are being transformed through compassionate support from generous donors.
