Every Child Deserves to Feel Safe and Seen
For a child who has lost a parent, support is about much more than meeting an immediate need. It is about knowing that someone still cares, that someone is listening, and that hope for the future is still possible.
Through our Hope for Syria's Orphans project, Salam Humanitarian Foundation (SHF) continues working to create a more supportive and protective environment for orphaned and vulnerable children affected by years of conflict, displacement, and economic hardship in Syria.
Our work is built around a simple belief: every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and included.
When our teams engage with children and their families, we see how difficult circumstances can affect a child's confidence, emotional well-being, education, and sense of belonging. For this reason, our vision goes beyond short-term assistance. We aim to connect children with psychosocial support, educational and recreational opportunities, and essential assistance based on identified needs.
One of the most meaningful parts of our work is seeing children gradually feel comfortable participating, communicating, and simply enjoying moments of childhood. A smile during a recreational activity, a child confidently joining a group, or a caregiver expressing renewed hope reminds us why long-term support matters.
Yet many orphaned children and vulnerable families continue to face serious challenges. Rising living costs, limited access to services, and prolonged displacement place additional pressure on households already struggling to meet basic needs.
Our next step is to continue strengthening an integrated approach that combines care, psychosocial well-being, learning opportunities, and dignity. We want children not only to cope with today's difficulties, but also to have the opportunity to imagine and build a better future.
To everyone who has supported this journey, thank you. Your compassion reminds vulnerable children and their families that they have not been forgotten.
Together, we can nurture hope, protect childhood, and help children take their next steps toward a brighter future.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Salam Humanitarian Foundation (SHF)
