Challenge

As a direct result of the ongoing war in Gaza Strip, the existing infrastructure in Gaza Strip has been decimated, destroying the local economy in Gaza Strip, intensifying the dependence on international aid, increasing the already existing unemployment rates, putting survivors lives at risk to famine and diseases. The HopeHubs initiative was born out of a desire to support individuals in Gaza during times of war, allowing them to develop professional and continue their freelance/remote work.

Solution

By providing a stable and supportive environment for displaced individuals, offering them the opportunity to continue their work, receive training, and access the resources needed to rebuild their lives during these challenging times. ACT started the initiative with an idea to assist remote workers in the Gaza Strip in returning to work by creating a workspace using available materials. Starting with a simple tent, it eventually evolved into Hopehubs in Rafah, Deir-al-balah, and Cairo, Egypt.

Long-Term Impact

To become part of a global movement to invest in humanity, and extend the operating model of Hopehubs into war-torn countries, and ultimately evolve the hubs into world-class co-working spaces offering displaced individuals and refugees access to quality, training, resources, and stable working environment to be be job-ready and access remote working and freelancing opportunities.
