Dear Global Donors,

Thank you for your continued generosity and commitment to youth transitioning out of the foster care system. Because of your support, Comfort Cases has reached an important milestone: we have assembled and distributed 30 Hope Boxes to date this year.

The Purpose of a Hope Box

Starting college or a trade school is an exciting but often daunting experience, particularly for young adults navigating life after foster care. Often lacking a traditional family support system, these students can easily feel isolated as they transition into adulthood.

To bridge this gap, Comfort Cases created the Hope Box as a key component of our Scholarship Program. Each box serves as a monthly care package designed to offer tangible encouragement and practical support to youth who have recently aged out of the system.

What Your Donations Provided

Valued at approximately $75 each, the 30 Hope Boxes distributed so far in 2026 were thoughtfully packed with:

Daily Essentials: Personal care and toiletry items to help ease financial burdens.
Encouraging Treats: Snacks and small treasures to bring comfort, joy, and a sense of normalcy.
Gift Cards: Flexible support allowing students to purchase specific necessities for their education and daily life.

The Impact of Your Support

These 30 Hope Boxes represent much more than just physical items. They provide a vital sense of dignity and care, reminding our scholarship recipients that they are valued and supported by a global community. This emotional reassurance is critical; it helps ease uncertainty, keeps students engaged in their education, and motivates them to succeed despite the challenges they have faced.

Because of you, they are beating the odds

As we look back on 2025, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for your generous support of the Hope Boxes program. Because of you, we took massive strides in our mission to ensure no child ever has to enter foster care carrying their entire life in a trash bag.

Your compassion helped fuel a truly landmark year. Together, we delivered dignity and hope to nearly 40,000 children across the United States. Between the distribution of Comfort Cases and Comfort XLs, and the powerful advocacy of our Founder, Rob Scheer—who traveled to share our mission at elementary schools, high schools, and colleges nationwide—your support helped us change lives on a massive scale.

But today, we want to share the specific, deeply personal impact you made for our older youth.

The reality for children aging out of the system is heartbreaking: only 3% of foster youth typically graduate from college. We refuse to accept that statistic, and through your support of the Hope Boxes program, you proved that you refuse to accept it, too.

Thanks to your belief in these young adults, we were able to provide both financial aid and tangible support for the 2025-2026 academic year. Your generosity allowed us to achieve the following:

144+ Hope Boxes Delivered: We sent over 144 Hope Boxes—packed with brand-new, essential dorm and living supplies—to youth transitioning out of the system and into higher education.
Awarded Hope Scholarships: We provided vital financial aid to graduating high school seniors and current college students to help them overcome financial barriers.

When a young person opens a Hope Box, they aren't just finding towels, bedding, and school supplies. They are finding a message: You are seen. You are worthy. We believe in your future. You didn't just give these students the supplies they need for their dorms; you gave them the foundation to beat the odds. Thank you for giving them the dignity they deserve and the hope they need to succeed.
