Hope and Joy on a Plate to Uganda report
Christmas is meant to be a time of joy, sharing, and togetherness. Yet for many vulnerable families in Uganda including, widows, orphans, the elderly, and the very poor, this season often arrives with anxiety, empty plates, and silent prayers. The Hope and Joy on a Plate to Uganda project, through your support sets out to change that story and this Christmas, you made it possible.
With great excitement and gratitude, we are proud to report that 50 vulnerable families in Kampungu Kalisizo received Christmas food baskets this season. Each basket brought not just food, but relief, dignity, and the feeling of being remembered. For many families, your support completely transformed how they experienced Christmas.
One elderly grandmother shared with tears in her eyes: “I thought Christmas would pass like any other day. I had nothing to cook. When you brought this food, I felt God had remembered me.”
A widowed mother of four told us: “My children were asking me what we would eat on Christmas. I had no answer. Today, they are smiling and eating like other children. Thank you for restoring my joy.”
Another beneficiary quietly said: “This basket saved me from embarrassment. At least my family celebrated Christmas with dignity.”
These words remind us that your generosity reaches far beyond food. It touches hearts, restores hope, and creates memories that will last long after the season ends.
To our amazing donors and supporters, thank you, thank you, thank you. Your continued diligence, faithfulness, and compassion are the backbone of this project. You showed up when it mattered most, and because of you, 50 families celebrated Christmas with full plates and full hearts.
Without your support, these families would have faced a very different Christmas. One marked by hunger and isolation. Instead, they experienced love, community, and joy.
As we celebrate this success, we are reminded that many more families still need support. With your continued partnership, we look forward to reaching even more households and spreading hope to places where it is needed most.
