When the Grandriders arrived at the Masadi Forest in Guangfu, Hualien, they were met by the Malatao BULAO Baseball Team. While these are two different groups of older adults, they share a common goal of staying active and pursuing their interests.
This visit was particularly important to us because of the 2025 Hualien barrier lake incident. We wanted to spend time with the local older adults in Guangfu, offering our support and companionship in person.
The afternoon was spent talking, exchanging gifts, and participating in group activities. What began as a formal meeting quickly turned into a genuine connection as the groups shared stories about their lives.
While one group focuses on riding motorcycles and the other on baseball, their spirits are the same. They are both proof that you don't have to give up on your dreams as you age. In that moment, they weren’t just cheering for one another. They recognized a shared determination to never give up.
