YUVA was initiated as a livelihood and shelter project with a dual purpose: to provide sustainable support to the disaster-affected region and to safeguard both the well-being of its inhabitants and the environment.
By supporting the production of YUVA Units, we had the privilege of facilitating a multitude of purposes, ranging from serving as schools, children's rooms, classrooms, kitchens, to offices. These Home Units, provided to organizations engaged in diverse activities such as education, psychosocial initiatives, health services, and more, played a pivotal role in ensuring the continuity of these efforts in the earthquake-stricken region.
The YUVA Workshop, established within the local community for the producton of YUVA Unit components, supported by the local workforce, has also evolved into a hub for professional learning.YUVA Workshop which was established locally for YUVA Unt productons, supported by local workforce, also became a vocational learning center.
The young people who created employment opportunities at Yuva Workshopwere provided with a healthy, social, respectful and fair working environment, as well as technical production knowledge. The working model in the workshop, where professional knowledge was transferred such as construction, machine use and installation workmanship, also contributed to the compensation of the social and psychological damages caused by the disaster.
The production process, which sets an example for collective learning, healing through learning, respect for nature and the environment, and solidarity economy, also created employment opportunities.
YUVA Workshopcreated social benefits in different areas for 95 people affected by the earthquake. A new generation apprenticeship program was implemented with the participation of individuals from different age groups and the principles of gender equality.
