1. We had our monthly night outreach walk in Osaka’s Kita Ward.
We walk through the neighborhood, handing out warm meals and sharing information about Homedoor with people experiencing homelessness.
During an outreach, one person told us, “This is my first meal in ten days.”
A few days later, he came to our consultation session—holding the flyer that had been tucked inside his meal box.
One meal can become a small but powerful bridge to someone who urgently needs help.
With that in mind, we head out into the city again tonight.
Two days after every night outreach, Homedoor hosts a meal-supported consultation session.
Many people who receive a meal during outreach come to us after discovering Homedoor through the flyer inside.
In FY2024, we met 740 people during our outreach walks.
Staff and volunteers speak to each person one by one as they walk through the city—
and this steady, person-centered effort becomes the first step toward a new beginning for many.
2. We made fresh chinese rolls!
Volunteers and shelter guests rolled them together—chatting about cilantro preferences, choosing their favorite sauces, and sharing lots of laughs.
It turned into a warm, joyful mealtime that our staff also enjoyed together.
