The proposed project aims at supporting 100 senior citizens, destitute women and abandoned children from poor families who at present live in a Home in Nanguneri town of Tirunelveli district in Tamilnadu, India, need safe accommodation, tender love, proper care, nourishment, health service, and other basic needs.
Due to poverty and being deprived of guardian care and love, many of the senior citizens, destitute women and abandoned children leave their homes and take asylum in Homes. They cannot participate in social events, spiritual and recreational activities. They suffer from various diseases. They cannot access health care due to lack of awareness and income of their caregivers resulting in poor health and sickness. Villages have lower access to health care services to the rest of the country.
This project will solve the problem of senior citizens, destitute women and abandoned children by providing them with decent accommodation, nutritious food, health care, basic requirements, spiritual and recreational activities. We will also provide them with counseling services to live a peaceful life. Destitute women will be imparted with employable skills to start their own micro-enterprises and children will be sent to schools with learning materials for completing their academic education.
Senior citizens will lead a disease-free healthy life with peace of mind. Destitute women will acquire employable skills like rearing of Country Chickens, Doves, Rabbits, Turkey Birds, Guinea-fowl and Quail, Incubation of Eggs, Duck Farming, etc., for starting their own microenterprises to earn a decent and regular income to lead an independent life. Children will have their academic education completed with the acquisition of vocational skills to get employed with regular income.
