More Than a Shelter: Empowering Girls at Hogar Meraki

Agustina, tell us more about Meraki's activities

Dear friends, At Hogar Meraki, our home for adolescent girls in vulnerable situations in Argentina, we believe that a hogar convivencial is much more than simply a place to stay. It is a safe and caring environment where teenagers can begin to rebuild trust, heal from difficult experiences, and develop the tools they need to imagine a different future for themselves. Every day, the girls receive comprehensive support adapted to their individual needs. This includes educational assistance, school support, psychological counseling, digital literacy tools, and guidance about their rights. We work to provide each adolescent with opportunities that strengthen their confidence, independence, and personal development. One of the most important aspects of our work is helping the girls build healthy support networks beyond the Home. Our technical team also accompanies family bonding processes whenever possible, supporting each adolescent through complex emotional situations while encouraging autonomy and personal growth in every stage of their journey. At Hogar Meraki, we believe every girl deserves to grow up in an environment where she feels heard, respected, and protected. Many of the adolescents who arrive at the Home have experienced difficult and unstable realities, and our mission is to offer them care, stability, and real opportunities to move forward with dignity and hope. Thanks to your continued support, we can sustain this important work and continue creating spaces where vulnerable girls are not only protected, but truly empowered to heal, learn, and dream of brighter futures. With gratitude, The Hogar Meraki Team Mensajeros de la Paz Argentina
