Home for Girls at Social Risk in Argentina

Dear friends, 

As the year 2025 has come to an end, we would like to share a heartfelt update from Hogar Meraki, our home for girls and adolescents at social risk in Argentina. Thanks to your continued support, this holiday season was filled with warmth, care, and meaningful moments of belonging. 

One of the most important aspects of the end-of-year celebrations for us was ensuring that every girl currently living at Hogar Meraki was able to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in a family environment. Some of the girls were able to reunite with their own families, while others were lovingly welcomed into the homes of our caregivers and staff members, who opened their doors and hearts so that no one would spend the holidays alone. 

These shared meals, conversations, and moments of togetherness were deeply meaningful. For many of the girls, experiencing Christmas in a safe, loving family setting is not something they can take for granted. This season reminded us that beyond shelter, what truly transforms lives is belonging, affection, and hope. 

As we move forward into the new year, we are also adapting to the realities of the season here in Argentina. It is summer, and the high temperatures are already being felt strongly. At the same time, schools are on break, and there are no extracurricular activities available during these months, which means the girls spend much more time at home. 

To ensure they can enjoy a healthy, joyful, and active summer, we have opened a special donation space to support: 

• Recreational summer activities that promote play, movement, and emotional well-being 

These simple resources make a big difference. They allow the girls to cool down, laugh, play together, and create positive memories during a time that can otherwise feel long and challenging.

Dear friends,

We are so excited to share some wonderful news from Hogar Meraki. Thanks to your support and the effort of our team, we have completed key renovations that will allow us to use the entire upper floor of our building—and even enjoy the terrace this coming summer. This means a huge improvement in the quality of life for the girls, who now have more space for learning, recreation, and simply being together.

Another highlight was our recent trip to Bahía Blanca, where we joined the reconstruction efforts for families affected by the devastating floods. As part of a larger Mensajeros de la Paz project, our girls participated as volunteers—painting, repairing, and lending their hands and hearts. It was a truly transformative experience: they built stronger bonds as a group, discovered new realities, and above all, felt the joy of becoming givers of help rather than passive recipients.

Now, as we look ahead, we want to make sure the girls can also enjoy something every teenager deserves: a summer break. We are raising funds to organize a small vacation trip for them—a chance to rest, explore, and create positive memories.
