Dear friends,
This March 19th, 2026, we proudly celebrated the 91st anniversary of San José Home, our residence for older adults in Argentina. For more than nine decades, this Home has been a place of dignity, care, and companionship for elderly individuals who often arrive after experiencing deep loneliness, abandonment, or extremely vulnerable living conditions.
This year’s celebration was especially meaningful because we shared it alongside two wonderful international volunteers, Jane and Roger, who brought joy, warmth, and generosity to our residents. Together, we spent a beautiful afternoon playing bingo, sharing stories, laughing together, and enjoying birthday cake as one big family.
One of the most significant moments of the day was the generous donation Jane and Roger made of neurological medications for Ricardo, one of our beloved residents. Before arriving at San José Home, Ricardo had been living on the streets and facing extremely difficult circumstances. Three years ago, he became part of our community, and since then, he has grown into an essential and cherished member of the Home.
Thanks to the kindness and support of people like Jane and Roger — and all of you who read and support our mission — we are able to continue providing Ricardo and many other residents with the care, medical support, stability, and affection they deserve.
At San José Home, our interdisciplinary team works every day to ensure they receive not only professional care, but also emotional support, human connection, and opportunities to continue enjoying life with dignity.
Celebrating 91 years reminds us that a Home is built not only with walls, but with people who choose to care for one another.
Thank you for being part of this story and for helping us continue creating a safe and loving home for older adults in Argentina.
With gratitude,
The Team at San José Home
