Greetings from Margadarshi!!!
We are thankful for your timely help and support which is sustaining our project for the women at our Home. While annual exams have started for some of our students, for others it will be next week and they are busy preparing for the same. One of our student Anuradha, will be completing her Engineering this semester and we are only too happy to present to you her success story, in her own words.
“Hi, I’m Anuradha.M, I was living in Andhra Pradesh, Kadapa District with my mother and grandparents. When I was in the womb of my mother she became bedridden, which led to the divorce of my parents. As a baby my left leg was affected by polio. I was not given any timely medical care, due to poverty. When I was 8 years old, one of my far relative brought me to Bangalore, to provide education and to take care of me.
During this time my relative whom I call as granddad came to know about Margadarshi through Ms.Geethamrutha (one of the Board Member and present Hon.President of Margadarshi). I was provided with medical support and in 2000, my left leg was operated at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore and thereafter necessary medical rehabilitation was given and gradually I started walking without any support. I continued to stay with my mother and grandparents and few years back I lost my mother and grandparents. Though one of my relative was taking care of me, Margadarshi was with me in all the ways.
Now for the last 8 months I am staying at Margadarshi Home, since my relative was aged and decided that I should be in a secured place (he too passed away few days back). With the support of Margadarshi, I am pursing my final year Engineering in Electrical and Electronics, at Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bangalore. I am very happy to stay here with everyone, people here are very supportive. I feel I am very lucky to be part of Margadarshi Home.”
We thank you for joining hands with us for the Smile on Anuradha’s face and enlightening her and each of the women’s lives, every day, at our Home. We look forward to your continued support to sustain our Residential Program.
