When 6-year-old Valentina began her cancer treatment, her family had to travel from another region to Santiago. The long hospital days and the uncertainty of being far from home were overwhelming.
At our Home Away from Home, Valentina and her mother found a warm, safe place to stay during treatment — a space filled with care, meals, and community. Here, families rest, share experiences, and find strength in one another while their children receive medical care.
Valentina loves spending time in the common areas and helping her mom prepare breakfast before going to the hospital. Her mother says, “This house became our refuge — a place where hope feels alive every day.”
Thanks to the generosity of GlobalGiving donors, families like Valentina’s can face cancer treatment with dignity and support, knowing they are not alone. Together, we make this house a true home away from home.
