Dear Supporters,
we can only thank you for the way you have supported us again in 2022. A year that began unreal with the invasion of the Russian army on the neighboring country of Ukraine and as a result has continued with significant price increases in many areas of our lives. Companies of all sizes are getting into difficulties and many thousands of jobs are at risk.
Of course, this also has the consequence that the willingness to donate is more restrained and we as an association, which depends on it,we have less financial resources to implement our initiatives with the children affected by cancer and their families. Nevertheless, we again implemented a lot and created unique moments that benefited the children.
At our "Haus Am Bernsteinsee" we were able to hold the "Maximilian Arnold Wölfe Camp" for the 4th time at the end of August. The children suffering from cancer can come to rest with their families in the recreation area "Haus am Bernsteinsee" and at the same time experience eventful days with and at VfL Wolfsburg. The patron of the adventure camp has been Maximilian Arnold, the captain of Wolfsburg's first division team, since the beginning.
On the very first day of the camp, the 16 participating children and their families, who had traveled from 6 German states, were able to experience the soccer star up close.
Unexpectedly and generously came the donation of the "Ring gegen Krebs e.V.". The volunteer members collect money and then pass it on to other associations. In this way we received 20,000 €. The handover of donations took place at Wernigerode Castle.
We are very happy about this great support!
But we also received great individual donations. Ralf and Sabine Lehr from "Deutsche Vermögensberatung" in Halberstadt handed over a donation check for 1,000 € and were thus able to repeatedly provide great support for our work, which is urgently needed, as in all social areas, to continue and expand the tasks and projects. Avery Kolle: "It is impressive that even now, in these difficult times, people are thinking of us and of the needs of young cancer patients. We are proud of this and very grateful!"
We know that there is a lot of uncertainty at the moment and monetary support is not always easy. But if all current supporters could check again individually whether there are amounts that could be donated, this would make it much easier for us to start our work in 2023.
Therefore our call: Before you go into your well-deserved Christmas holidays and the turn of the year, take another look at the GlobalGiving Portal and donate! We are happy about any amount, because we see it as recognition for what we do and we do a lot, we do good.
We wish you a Merry Christmas, a peaceful time with your family and health & confidence for the year 2023!
