Dear Supporters,
Herewith we would like to give you again a small insight into the first quarter of 2022. The year started really well because we won a reward. Over the autumn 2021, Riot Games invited players from around the world to become a ‘force for good’ and nominate a nonprofit and/or a cause area that was important to them. Along with the nomination, players were asked to share a testimonial to explain why this cause was meaningful to them and how it was impacting their local community. Over 19,000 submissions came in from players around the globe and Riot’s social impact team, with the help of their partners ImpactAssets and GlobalGiving, vetted and chose 30 nonprofits to receive $10,000 donations.
In difficult times, most miracles happen! To receive such generous support completely unexpectedly and without any announcement is simply unbelievable. When this support comes from a company that is more than 9,300km (5778 miles) away, it is truly a miracle. Riot Games, headquartered in Los Angeles, is supporting us with $10,000 to expand our vacation facility for children with cancer here in Germany. The fact that we, of all people, have been chosen is a sign for us that our work is noticed and appreciated. At the same time, it is also a great motivation for us to continue our efforts to support the families affected. We are unspeakably proud of such supporters and are happy about the received donation. Thank you Riot Games!
We also immediately used this seed money to tackle our next project on the site. A community house!
The work went well despite the weather situation and shortage of craftsmen and materials. After the completion of the base plate is now also the large log house of 14x6m and mid-February comes the complete roof and windows & doors to it. Then already at the beginning of March we started with the drywall work inside the house, because our goal is beeing ready until the 4. Maximilian Arnold-Wölfecamp on 11 August starts . The entire team and our supporters gave everything. Enclosed are a few photos to see how it looks on site. The families and kids will be amazed at what awaits them soon at the Amber Lake.
Please continue to support us, even we know that the current events in Ukraine shock and make priorities shift. But these are the times when we need to give special protection to the weakest and most vulnerable beings in our society.
We thank you for your support and we thank you for not forgetting us.
Thanks!
