Reports of Hong Kong LGBT+ training - Phase 1

Reports of Hong Kong LGBT+ training - Phase 1

For the preparation of our project, Les Corner Empowerment Association (LC) need to coordinate with other parties to discuss and arrange the training session for the service providers.

Between March to May, we had met the following parties:

1. Under the Government of the HKSAR:

a)    Hong Kong Police Force –

o    Meeting with the new Chief Inspector and Senior Inspector of Family Conflict & Sexual Violence Policy Unit, we focus on the front-line police how to handle same sex domestic violence case.

o    Discuss and arrange the training session to different levels police staff and confirmed the training will hold on 25/6/2019

b)    Service Welfare Department (Domestic Violence) –

o    Meeting with the Chief Social Work Officer and Senior Social Work Officer, we focus on the coordination between 11 Family and Child Protective Services Unit (FCPSUs) and Sexual Minorities Organization. We request 11 Units must have the updated information of these Organization and provide to whom seeking for.

c)     Equal Opportunities Commission

o    Meeting with the new Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Commission (EOC) to voice out the problem about sexual minorities were sexual harassed in the workplace, approach government to improve and increase the unisex toilet.

2. NGO:

a)    Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (CEASE Crisis Centre) – Arrange the training plan meeting in July

b)    Po Leung Kuk (Harmony Community Resources Centre) – Arrange the training plan meeting in July

c)     Harmony House –

o    Meeting with the Executive Director and we focus on the front-line social workers how to handle same sex domestic violence case.

o    Discuss and arrange the training session to different levels police staff and confirmed the training will hold on Dec 2019
