English speaking Cameroon has been enduring serious socio-political turmoil during the recent past. Unfortunately, the situation has become increasingly worse with a rise in violence. The insecure envirnoment has brought much of life here to a hault. There is no school, markets/shopping is oftens suspended and many families have been seperated beause young men and boys are not safe in many of our villages so they travel to neighboring regions.
As a result, Better Family Foundation has not recently held a HIV/Sex-ED day camp for at risk youth. Our team has continued meeting amongst ourselves in order to plan, discuss and prepare for the moment when we can have an opportunity to host our next workshop. We are sad to report on the current state of affairs here in our home and even more sad about the true public health impacts the conflict is having.
We are blessed to have your continued support during this lull in activity. We urge you to read up on the current conflict and share these struggles amongst your networks to raise awarness about the situation. We hope to soon have better news to share.
Best,
Mbeng Simon Nsah
